Entry Age Requirements

Hereford

  • The 2017 Hereford Show will be a fit show.
  • Consignors must be members of the Nebraska Hereford Association.
  • Entries must be a Horned Hereford according to the American Hereford Association.
  • Entries shall be subject to approval by a selection committee appointed by the NHA board.
  • All eligible female entries must include a check for $50 made payable to the NHA for the Junior Futurity.
  • The Nebraska Hereford Association charges an additional 1% sales commission.

Polled Hereford

Red Angus

  • Consignors must be a member of the Nebraska Red Angus Association.
  • Entries must be registered as a 1A or 1B Red Angus with the Red Angus Association.
  • Heifer calves (born after January 1, 2016 and before August 31, 2016) must be entered in the NRAA Futurity to be paid out at the Junior Beef Expo and the Nebraska State Fair. All heifer calf entries must include a $50 payable to the NRA.

Angus

  • CLOSED SALE - Bulls and Females
  • The 2017 Angus Show will be a fit show.
  • Consignors are limited to current members of the NE Angus Association, operating legitimately within the state of Nebraska.
  • NAA member must appear as the first owner on the registration papers to show at the Classic.
  • Entries shall be subject to approval by NAA Screening Committee. The Committee reserves the right to reject any animal not meeting NAA qualifications of eligibility, conformation and structure.
  • Nebraska Angus Association Dues Must be PAID by Feb. 1st! The form can be found at http://www.nebraskaangus.org. Go to membership page to download the form.

Simmental

  • OPEN SALE - Bulls and Females
  • The 2017 Simmental Show will be a fit show.
  • Consignors must be members of the Nebraska Simmental Association.
  • Entries must be registered with the American Simmental Association. (Non-Simmental Sired entries ARE allowed)
  • Bulls must be born prior to March 31, 2016 and must pass a semen test prior to the Classic.
  • Entries registered as a 1/2 blood Simmental or higher are allowed. (Non-Simmental Sired entries ARE allowed)
  • There will be a "Foundation Show" which will include 50%-74.99% Simmental and a "Purebred Show" of 75% or greater as long as both divisions have 25 head each. 3/4 bloods will show in the PB Show.
  • The NSA and the NCC reserves the right to combine the shows if each division does not meet the entry requirements of the Classic. • Genetic status must be printed in the catalog.
  • An EPD, weight, and scrotal measurement data sheet will be made. The sheet will be given to the judge to use.
  • The NSA charges an additional 1% sales commission.
  • Genetic status must be printed in the catalog Animals must be TF (Tested Free), PF (Pedigree Free), DF (Documented Free) or AF (Assumed Free) to be eligible for the Simmental show/sale. Entries as PR (Population Risk) or CL (Carrier in Lineage) must be blood tested by January 1st.Send test results to both the NSA Office & Cattlemen's Classic Office. Animals testing as carrier will be moved to the OPEN SALE.

Charolais

  • Consignors must be members of the Nebraska Charolais Association. Memberships must be paid by check-in time.
  • Entries must be registered with American International Charolais Association.
  • The Nebraska Charolais Association charges an additional 0.5% sales commission.

Limousin

  • OPEN SALE - Bulls and Females
  • The 2017 Limousin Show will be a no fit show.
  • Entries must be registered with North American Limousin Foundation.
  • Entries must be registered as LimFlex (50% or greater).
  • Entries not registered as a LimFlex or purebred, must be a registered as 3/4 blood or higher.
  • Yearling bulls will have a minimum adjusted scrotal of 31 cm. Entries will be weighed and measured at the show.
  • Bulls born after January 1, 2015 has to have a 2.6 WPD of age.
  • Heifers born January 1, 2015 to August 31, 2015 must be bred.
  • The Nebraska Limousin Association will receive 1% commission of sales.

GELBVIEH/BALANCER

  • The 2017 Gelbvieh/Balancer Show will be a no fit show and both will show together.
  • Consignors must be members of both the Nebraska and American Gelbvieh Associations for 2016. Out of state consignors may buy a membership for $50.
  • Entries must be registered as Purebred Gelbvieh or as Balancers with the American Gelbvieh Association.
  • Heifers born prior to June 1,2015 must be safe in calf or have a calf at side.
  • Entries will be weighed and scrotal measured at check-in. This information will be in the show programs.
  • GAIN is charging $100 per entry for the Jackpot for Junior National Division Winners. This cash award is for youth purchasing heifers at the Classic and showing at Junior Nationals. This $100 goes directly to GAIN.

SHORTHORN

  • No bulls will be accepted with a birth weight over 99 pounds.
  • Bulls must be born prior to April 30, 2016. • Heifer calf entries must include a check for $50 made payable to NSA for the Junior Futurity.
  • Entries must be TH tested unless the parents are verified TH Free. Results must be provided with entry.

SHORTHORN PLUS

  • Entries must be TH tested unless the parents are verified TH Free. Results must be provided with entry.
  • There will be a champion in each division selected, but the two division champions will compete for one overall Shorthorn Champion and Reserve Champion.

MAINE ANJOU & MAINETAINER

  • Bulls are required to have a minimum scrotal measurement of 30 cm adjusted to 1 year of age.
  • Bred heifers must be bred to a bull that is TH and PHA Free.

CHIANINA

  • Entries must be registered as a Chimaine in the American Chianina Association.
  • Bulls have a minimum scrotal measurement is 28 cm unless the bull has satisfactory semen tests.
  • Bulls over one year must have satisfactory semen test.
  • All entries must provide test results on TH and PHA status. Please indicate if Carrier or Free.
  • Heifer calves born prior to August31,2016 will be accepted.
  • Entries will sell under terms and conditions of the ACA.
  • Entries must be sent with registration papers.

CLASSIC OPEN BULL & HEIFER SALE

  • This sale is open to all other breeds. Bulls and heifers. The entry must carry a registration paper with a Breed Association.
  • Entries in this sale must disclose all registration information at entry time.
